Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone increase security at Mumbai home amid Rs 10 crore threat

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone reportedly increased security outside their Mumbai home shortly after the former got a threatening message on Tuesday night. The couple sent a formal letter to the Dadar Police Station, stating that they deployed armed personnel outside their home. It comes after reports claimed that Ranveer Singh received a threat via WhatsApp voice message.

Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone Tighten Security

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone sent six armed security guards to the Dadar Police Station without first obtaining the ‘permission’ of the Society Managing Committee, as per a report by Hindustan Times. The letter stated that a second uniformed police officer was stationed at their premises.

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s society committee expressed their ‘serious concern’ for the security and well-being of the other residents. They reported that armed personnel were wandering around brandishing their weapons in the foyer, gymnasium and children’s area. The open letter demanded prompt confirmation from the Mumbai Police department and an explanation of whether the security personnel’s permission had been authorised.

The threat follows a firing incident at the home of filmmaker Rohit Shetty. For the uninitiated, five rounds of gunfire were shot outside his Juhu home in Mumbai. Three bullet holes were spotted on the structure in an exclusive video shared by IANS. The suspects were able to flee the location after firing gunshots. The Mumbai Crime Branch and senior Mumbai Police personnel were on the location as soon as the incident was reported.

Amid the ongoing threat, Ranveer Singh is enjoying the success of the spy thriller movie, Dhurandhar. The movie, which also stars Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan and Sanjay Dutt, brought in over Rs 1300 crore globally. The sequel will be released in theatres on March 19, 2026.
